The Californian national parks are not only protected sites but also sanctuaries that conserve this state’s most beautiful ecological systems. Yosemite among other icons is evidence of great conservation efforts in California where every park is proof that California appreciates her landscape.

Among the treasures found in California, one of them is Yosemite National Park, which has been dear to me since. The natural scenery consisting of soaring granite bluffs, flowing waterfalls, and verdant fields makes captivating portraits of nature’s magnitude. However, as one wanders around in this vale, its immense character makes it impossible to escape being humble towards it.

California Parks: A Symphony of Diversity

California Parks cover many different types of landscapes each endowed with their own special appeal. The rugged coastline of Redwood National and State Parks is as beautiful as the otherworldly desert terrain of Death Valley National Park.

The wanderings in the parks amazed me with a variety of plants and animals. Standing amid giant trees in the ancient groves of the Redwood National and State Parks. Their peacefulness invites an eerie sense of calmness difficult to reproduce elsewhere.

Number of National Parks in California: More Than You Might Think

There are many national parks in California, all of which give different perspectives on California’s natural beauty. In my last expedition, I established that California alone has about nine national parks every one with unique characteristics the others are Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Redwood, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Death Valley, Channel Islands, Lassen Volcanic, and Pinnacles National Parks.

While in the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks my mind was bowled over as I saw myself dwarfed by the gigantomachy-like sequoia trees – among the biggest and oldest organisms around the world. The smell of pine trees and the whisper of leaves took me to another dimension where only nature dictates the pace of time.

California State Parks: Hidden Gems worth Discovering

Though national parks grab attention, California’s state parks are a gem with various exciting attractions. Such parks are usually small; for example, they are overshadowed by their national counterparts but still they provide visitors with unique views and landscapes which are less explored.

The Channel Islands National Park cannot be complete without listing it among California’s national parks. These islands can be reached only by boat and they serve as a paradise for wildlife to be exhibited as their coastal setting appears untamed by times. The Channel Islands made me realize again how carefully humans can influence natural systems.
